i just finished "needful things" by steven king. basically this new shop opens in some small southern town. everyone who goes there finds the item they desire the most, but the price of each item varies by person. like, this one guy gets a fox tail or sommet, but in return he has to kill this womans dog, which sets off a huge chain reaction of murders. all in all it was pretty cool. except for the ending which just went way outta proportion

Hmm you might want to try "The Joy Luck Club" by Amy Tan. Basically the story is about the life of four Chinese women and each of their daughter. There's lots of Chinese beliefs and cultures involved in the story.

Originally I got forced to read this book but then I actually got hooked to it and read it till the end. That was back many years ago too when I still hate reading. I'm not sure it's your kind of book though but you might want to give it a try.

I would suggest reading "Road Side Picnic". It's a Russian Novel tho. I found an English Translated Version. It's about alien objects that impacted the earth at different times but they all came from the same origin (unknown). A man named red travels into the alienated zones and collects artifacts(which is illegal) and sells them to anyone who wants to pay. If you've ever played the game "S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl" It's very similar to that(The game was based off of the book).

It's very mysterious and confusing at first. I'm about half way through it and I love it.

A long time ago (in elementary school) I checked out a book called The Time Machine I got to the 2nd page and lost complete interest due to big words.

I picked it up again because it was assigned in science fiction class (Best English class ever IMO). If you haven't already read this amazing piece of literature you definately should. It's quite an amazing journey and is a relatively short read (A novela) that despite it's length gets the job done in a satisfying way.

To give a quick synoNicoles this fellow builds a time machine and tells a room of doctors and proffesors about it. They don't quite believe him until the next day when he invited them back he stumbles down the stairs looking like he's gone through hell and half of Georgia and devours some food before telling them of his journey to the year 802,701 then to roughly 30 million years into the future.

That's one of the very few books I read and I have to say it's really nice. It's about some Jewish family moving out of Germany and then living in Austria for a while until they move away from there, too, to France that is, and live there for a while. The Jewish family has to live from barely any money and shit, really nicely written, too.

i started going on a king marathon after reading Misery
after It im reading a collection of short stories by king called Night Shift
before misery i was reading a collection of stories by roald dahl, and i found his stories for adults were much better than his kid stories

I just finished reading the newest King book. I've read everything he's written.


Right now I'm reading "The Man in the High Castle" by Philip K. Dick. One of the few Dick books I haven't read. I try and finish a book every two days, so I guess I'll post here a lot. I reread alot of the same books over and over though.


Man in the High Castle is an alternate history story where we lost WWII. There are almost no Jews left alive, and the ones who are have assumed false identities. Slavery is legalized again. It's about a black family and a Jewish family trying to survive corporate lives.


I've only got a few pages left. It's pretty short.

I love "It" its way better then the movie and yet kind of fucked up in some ways but thats Steven King for ya.
Another one of his books I liked was "the dead zone" I dont want to ruin to much of it, so I wont tell much but the ending
kind of sucked and yet it was good.
I didnt enjoy "Tommy Knockers" too much but I didnt get to far into it.

Guy you have to read the Dark Tower mang! Ok, it's just insane fantasy stuff really, but if you read the whole thing, it opens up plenty of new doors in his work. There are so many other subtle things that all relate to the Dark Tower.


Think of the Dark Tower is similar in univer to Samurai Jack, but with all sorts of Cowboy culture instead of Samurai stuff, and geared waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to adults. If they make the movie adaption properly, it'd have to be nc-17 or x-rated. It's horrifying some of the shit that goes down.

I was forced to read When Hitler stole Pink Rabbit, too. I enjoyed it but I wouldn't read books when I'm not forced to.

nah i loved things fall apart and lord of the flies they were excellent

but ill put it this way i took a comparative literature course about 1600s literature. we were required to buy 8 books for the class. i only used sparknotes and got an A without reading a page.

the eyes of the dragon is very much a sort of prequel to Dark Tower, and The Stand is viewed by alot of fans as a sort of "What if?" sequel to the Dark Tower.



But yeah, DT is 7 books, and many, many, many, many thousands of pages.

i was never interested in The Dark Tower series because it was fantasy, but ill check it out
i think my favorite king book and movie adaption so far was The Mist
i thought Cell was pretty cool until the zombies became magic psychic people

read the stories "desperation" and the "the regulators" by stephen king

they go but arent really related

if you read them you\\\'ll understand what im talking about

also i read the mist after seeing the movie, and i would have to say that the movie was pretty much jsut as good as the book

the only thing was that the movie was missing like 3 monsters

a big green dragonfly, a scary flying kite (oh no!), and something else

im glad that the gigantic thing in the end was there though

and the movie "it" fucking SUCKED they didnt even show the part in the end where all of the kids have sex and i was really looking forward to some kids having sex

the only book ive read recently of my own choice was a scanner darkly it was a great book and a great movie

the regulators sounded kind of dumb, but king manages to make even the stupidest things cool
theres an entire shelf with king books at the barnes and noble i go to and its always hard picking a few out

Mr.Hands.
It's a horror novel with two main characters. One is Ronnie and the other is Lucy I think.
It's kind of hard to explain without giving off a whole ton of important details though.
Basically both main characters go batshit crazy at one point, and THAT'S when it gets interesting.
