Finally saw it a little while ago, I haven't had a chance to get to the movies in about a month. I have the same as everyone else's thoughts, it looked cool but the story was mediocre.

also someone count how many tim burton movies start with someone building something he's got a construction fetish or something i swear to god

It'd be kind of hard to think Burton is the director considering everyone was complaining about it for half a page. And I obviously read the posts or I couldn't have said I agree with them. It's not backtracking, I couldn't come up with a good way to word it.

i went to a screening of 9 the other night. i liked the movie simply because i got lost in the near photorealism at some parts. the story, character design, and voice acting definitely sucked, but the animation and backgrounds were great.

shane acker then answered questions and after a few compliments suddenly everyone was questioning the story's logic and plot holes. he fired back that when they were storyboarding the studio halted the project, then took it away from him and gave it to the screenwriter of monster house and corpse bride. he admitted the story's shortcomings and wished he had had a little more time for character development and that they hadn't cut so much in favor of mindless action sequences.

i was kinda surprised, most filmmakers would've been defensive but he acted like the shortcomings of the film bothered him more than anyone else. i think once he gets a good script he could potentially make an amazing film

who said anything about hating them - i said they sucked. sweeney todd has some good visuals, but it's a bad, poorly cast musical. corpse bride has good animation but musical segments but the story is lame.
