Read all of it top to bottom. I don't think anything he's expressed is unreasonable. I'm not surprised by most of the response to it either, but I think this was worth be put out there for the sake of "both sides" of the spectrum.

Oh bug you, where d'you find these songs, Heh.

Oh, this isn't the one I couldn't recall before, but Schmorky deserves some mention as well.

lifepoint1's animation's a bit sloppy but his storytelling is very interesting and different compared to many others. Team Clairvoyance's Nightmare City animations are incredible, the nockFORCE gentlemen do good work, Kine-the-Genius needs to put his skills to better use but he has large potential...there's one other I was JUST thinking of today that I felt was completely underexposed, but the name escapes me at the moment.

Oh and they previously did this...which probably wouldn't've taken off, but I do so love the song.

Pussycow.

An incomplete flash short by a couple of ex-Spumco animators. Very good quality stuff...and his pupils are bellbars.

Clever opening. I actually WON'T be surprised by how they manage to make a plot out of such a concept, that and I like the design of the flying machine house. To be honest, I'm more looking forward to Toy Story 3 for nostalgia's sake, but I'm sure this will be enjoyable either case.

His voice is unnaturally high pitched. Like Thurop, though not to the same extent - or as intriguingly.

Oda is an absolutely brilliant artist in both his illustration and writing. I find it sad that so many people are turned off by One Piece based solely on the choice of drawing style, when the fact is that it looks closer to being an American cartoon than anything else that comes from Jump. His drawings lend themselves rather quite well to animation to boot, even with such a large number of episodes and so many chapters, the series sucks you in. His writing throws what you expect in every direction - keeps you guessing and can completely shock you, without the, dare I say "WHAT A TWIST!" type of story directions, since honestly -anyone- can do that. The current storyline in the comic series is outstanding in itself.

Ahh yes. Further than that, did anyone happen to catch "High Score"?

I actually didn't blame the gentlemen for his cancellation. I had heard many rumor regarding some frightening letters from fans with threats for if he continued or didn't continue. By that point I would imagine the fun being sucked out of the entire progress.

While his attitude IS rather pretentious at times and seems to have strong distaste for most things in the animation world of today - both online and off, he seems to have a good deal of knowledge considering he's the same as any other flash artist doing work now...although for him, currently, there doesn't seem to be anything going on. This showed some promise but he has already made it clear of having no intentions to make due on it...

Shame.

I rather quite like the West episode myself, as well as "Panfake" mostly for what it implies behind the scenes. I hear tell an episode involving K'nuckles falling in love will air in the near future.

Evidently things such as Goku's tail and Piccolo's green skin/antennae will be edited into the film with special effects. Perhaps the several months they waited to push the film back will be slightly more worth it.

...only slightly.

General / Lag due to images.
September 3, 2008 05:44 AM
A good chum of mine is currenty working on a flash short and is using handdrawn images colored in photoshop for each background. He imported them as rather quite large .jpgs and placed them in their appropriate frame, but beefed up the filesize in the process. I promptly suggested he change them to .pngs about the size of the movie's actual frame in order to decrease the filesize, but in doing so each time a new background would appear a few frames would lag upon appearance. When I was able to take a look at the .fla file myself, I adjusted the .jpg quality down several notches as a test to see if it would resolve the issue, but no luck. Any suggestions?

A few others I've spoken to have said that they were a tad lucky, as well, since the studio they eventually settled on wasn't incredibly well known, so they were able to jump in on a young and upcoming stable of animators and benefitted greatly in the process.

Never used it once? Actually that's not unheard of - I wouldn't be surprised if he and a few others consider Flash "below" using traditional tools.
