I played an online game today for the first time, not a bad attempt, although admittedly i pretty much winged this one just to get my German ally to stop playing 50 questions.

you could have walked right in to both bases with your blob of marines so much earlier in the game and completely decimated them - even moreso if you had had a medivac to heal after hitting 1 of them. the enemy terran and protoss were mostly playing defensive and not expanding fast enough. mass banshees and mass void rays with no support units.. kind of a stupid strategy for a team. they were pretty much doomed from the beginning. your ally was also destroying everyone in income - at any given time in the game he was mining more than twice as many minerals as anyone else. i'm surprised he didn't have a larger army.

anyway, i played my ranked matches tonight and went 4 for 5 - all protoss 1v1.



now i'm going to get my ass kicked by good players until i get knocked back to a league i belong in. although i did play a high tier zerg in my last game and beat him after having to play defensively for a really long time. those early zerg rushes are a little nerve racking. here's the 4 replays of my wins (you don't want to see my loss, it's boring. i tried an early zealot rush which completely failed. stupid game)

Another game, think i handled this one alot better.

I see what you mean looking back at the game, but i prefer to have a pretty hube mob before i attempt any offensives, and to have some men in defense in the event the attack goes sour. This is pretty much just something that was hammered into me after getting constantly rushed in practice skirmishes on Very Hard/Insane. I'll work on it though like i need to work on getting more detector/anti air into my strategy.


I thought you handled yourself quite well on those Protoss games, although that high yield zerg one i think you were lucky, those void rays pretty much saved you, and i would've kept them just a tiny bit longer in the even he sent another quick wave before going over to harass. Also that chrono enhancement the protoss have could've been used alot more in my opinion, every little boost helps.

yeah, he sent a lot of roaches and i didn't have the ground force for it. but since he didn't send anything ground-to-air or anti-air and literally never changed his build, i massed void rays because they were invincible to his attacks.

and i guess you didn't notice, but i abuse chrono boost constantly. sometimes i let the nexus build up energy before using it so i can do it multiple times at once though.

these units are hardly ever used in multiplayer. they must be expensive units or hard to tech up to, because if i played zerg that's one of the first things i'd go for

well i got a good taste of the platinum leagues today going 3-5. my rank increased since i'm at the bottom of the ladder right now, but i doubt i will last very long if i keep up a track record like that.

This was my last placement for 2v2, turned into a 1v1 though after two players had problems, but now im in the silver league for 2v2 so that's not too bad i guess

i wish i was in silver league. i am getting my ass kicked in platinum. i'm 4-8 now. i usually lose to cheese builds. protoss cannon/proxy pylon rush, zerg muta rush, cloaked banshee rush, etc. i just can't compete with some of these players' macro

if you buy a copy of sc2 from the US then you probably could
