i'll upload assignments i liked and quick sketches here.

first is cheshire cat done in samurai jack style for character design, then a drawing i did in mspaint and colored in photoshop.

i like the face, almost a blissfully surprised expression. but it's just a bit too sketchy, i like sketchy, but thats just a bit too much.

I like them both a lot. I don't have any real problems with them and I kind of like the sketchiness of the second one. I also really like the coloring of the second one. Could you point me in the direction of a good digital painting tutorial?

new character design stuff.

this time we take an animal ( i picked one called a 'galagos'), dress it up in armor (i picked riot gear), and do a turnaround, 3 action shots and 3 faces. some with armor, some without. all work done in flash except for 4 radial blurs on top right since flash is not even capable of making them

also, anyone have suggestions for the below painting? it's pretty rough atm, workin on it a lot tonight. be glad to hear some crits

Great job on the turn arounds. Very detailed and great.

The painting below seems to being in the right direction. You pushed the colours and the darks a lot. I don't see anything really needing a fix though. The character, i don't know how she looks, but I think her face is a little too manly if you ask me. Other than that, keep it up, it looks great!!!!

too manly, eh? that's the second complaint about the face today .. well, i'll see what i can do. it is still in a rough sketch kind of phase.
and yeah, i'm all about pushing lights and darks. well, looks like i won't finish it tonight, but i will post another one tommorow and you can see what i've done with it.

Her arm upper arm seems a little thick to me...really for me its just the arm that bothers me

Other than that and its roughness around the edges, looks great. Love the colors
