I've just now returned from this experience.

Imagine a room full of sweaty nerds eating overpriced desserts because this was one of those weird restaurant theaters and watching beautiful Mongolian woodblock print slide shows animated by pedophiles of the Far East. Indeed.

Truly one of the most decadent outings of my life. I almost had my hostess bring me a glass of wine but I settled for water, and even that cost $0.54. When she brought the bill I gave her a dollar and said "Keep the change," and she replied "That's the biggest tip I've gotten all night," and claimed she wasn't joking, which made me cry. I would've gotten her number but didn't because I was seeing Kizumonogatari.

Which was great by the way. I'd say it's strictly for fans, even though the people I went with aren't as big fanboy/girls as I am but still really enjoyed it. It also had some of the most gorgeous sakuga I've seen in my life. Definitely check out the BR rip whenever that comes out.

I got a nice little cardstock poster too so I'd say the whole misadventure was worth $15 even though the movie was only an hour long, as it's the first in a trilogy of Shaft and Aniplex taking my money.

true or not, from my experience of seeing limited screenings of anime films the fans are notoriously loud, inconsiderate and rude. i always feel bad for the staff that have to deal with them and cleanup after them. the last dbz film it was especially bad

This was my first limited anime screening outside an arthouse or cineplex and I was still somewhat shocked at the etiquette.

I even pitched two extra dollars on the table just because it seemed like our party was one of the few tipping (please pat me).

also assigned seating, which i'm confused isn't a mainstream thing in the states yet
