As far as I know, most art/animation private schools that cost $500000000000000 are bullshit.
But I do want to get into a public school, and learn actual basic construction of cartoon animation and etc.
What universities or colleges are there that make you learn how to animate/draw/etc that are public or at least don't cost me my fucking life to pay off?

Also: Do most of them require you to go to art classes and stuff in your high school?
I doubt it, but if so, disappointment all around, since everyone who do go to those classes are nothing but anime otakus who tries to copy Dragonball Z/Death Note/bleh.

:'(

EDIT: tl;dr What public schools are there that teach you how to draw cartoon construction and animation?

rtil

no art schools care about what you did in high school besides graduating

your portfolio is what's important

Ok, that's good.
Now I gotta find myself a good school that's not gonna put me in debt for the rest of my life.
Well, most of my life, but not all of it :/

sQueef

don't do it don't go to art college
Oh, wretched ephemeral race ... why do you compel me to tell you what it would be most expedient for you not to hear? What is best of all is utterly beyond your reach: not to be born, not to be, to be nothing. But the second best for you is—to die soon.

You can always expect the anime people and the people who try to hard but
There's always a few people there that are incredibly talented and make you insecure.
It makes me regret not surgically attaching a pencil onto my hand and spending every waking minute drawing.
or actually trying to improve and experiment with uncomfortable territory rather than just doodling.

Wade is not gay, read his profile! It's sad that you would use sexual orientation as a joke, shows that you have no real sense of humor.

I know.
But I still want to find a college that has cartoon animation basic construction.
So I can improve and learn from a teacher, instead of reading John K's nazi blog all the time.

a portfolio is a collection of your best and most diverse works. you'd need to present it as prints in a folder. like a real folder you can hold in your hand and turn the pages, that kind of folder. although most schools will accept CD's with your work on it as a portfolio. that's what i did
