The Funk based rap is more on the old school anyway... but I prefer 90's hip hop, that was the golden age of hip hop... the new southside stuff is wack and i personally believe it's not hip hop...

Nope,  sorry.   Rap isn't hip hop.  At some point in the 90's somebody muddied up the waters and blurred that distinction. That's what I meant about Hip Hop trying to swallow the fuck out of everything.  During the early 90's you barely heard the term "hip hop".  Yep NWA was considered Gansta rap.  Gansta rap was perhaps the pinnacle of rap.  It was in your face.  Fucked with teh system. Albeit made women seem like shit - something I disliked about it.  It seemed that once Ez E died,  the corporations ceased on the moment and took it over, made it theirs and packaged it. They plopped a name on it (Hip Hop) and voila a pussy form or gangsta rap was born...Hip hop.  Meh that was my observation at the time anyways.  People have argued this til the cows come home. But I don't think good rap is ever going to come back.

But rap is hip hop, it's been that since the 80's... hip hop is the culture... rap & rnb is the music, graffiti is the art, and breakdancing is well, teh dancing...

zekey never used the word "thugs" to describe you or your friends, I just looked over his entire first argument against you to confirm this. he merely thinks you are perpetuating the stereotype and doesn't understand how that will accomplish breaking down walls; at least that's what i got out of it.
