People mostly like Dimebag because he's dead. Yeah he's awesome, but nowhere near as good as some people act like he is.



Jack White. This guy is a fucking slide-guitar God. I saw the white stripes live this summer, and Jesus Christ he went nuts on his solo in Let's Build a Home.


Also, Johnny Depp is a pretty damn good guitarist, surprisingly. Watch the movie Chocolat, theres a scene where he and his gypsy brethren play some gypsy music, and he plays guitar like nobodies business. I wouldn't say he's a guitar hero, but considering he also wrote his characters theme in the movie Once Upon a Time in Mexico, and the theme was so badass that I sometimes listen to it on loop, I'd say he's 'A' hero of mine.
