i haven't heard the grand budapest hotel ost but i did like interstellar's ost a lot. it was pretty much the only thing i liked about interstellar tbh

I haven't heard Interstellar's score and I haven't enjoyed a Hans Zimmer score since Rango, but I guess I will go give it a listen.

Disappointed Boyhood didn't win every award including best animated picture because nothing else took 12 years to make. What a joke.

Yeah I hate that Kaguya and Me and My Moulton didn't win because they were beautiful fuck Disney.

Really glad Whiplash won best editing and not Birdman because the latter had like 10 cuts.

Gone Girl had by far the best score of the year:

Also it's funny that both the big winners this year were really stagey/theatrical movies. We really haven't come very far since fucking Birth of a Nation.

The Dam Keeper had cool art/animation but a cringe inducing narrative and voice-over. Plus the Ghibli influence was really obvious. A lot like Song of the Sea.

But the rest of the Animated Short nominees were far worse. Except this one:

But yeah I doubt anyone in the academy takes this category seriously.

That's fair. What did you get out of The Dam Keeper? Perhaps it warrants revisiting.

well i mean- i liked me and my moulton, but it didn't feel like a complete story. it just sorta ended on "they got the bike. the end"

the dam keeper came full circle with the pig and his duties in how he ended where he began, but now he isn't alone
