ok looks like it's high time I started watching this

Wow. Honestly didn't see today's plot twist coming, but in retrospect it makes sense. Glad I my predictions were wrong, but now I wonder how they'll resolve it.

Seems pretty cool. When I got the time, I'll give it a gander.
Anyone else still following this? Ledo's old commander apparently ended up on Earth too and set himself up as a sort of god king. I'm kind of freaking out because I'm worried shit will hit the fan and people are gonna get massacred.
please use the spoiler tag in the future -rtil

hey now don't spoil it, but yeah I still am.

Anyways, I'm liking the general direction this anime has taken, especially compared to our earlier predictions
Honestly I found the ending to be a little.. underwhelming, like they just chose to play it safe, especially after such an awesome build up. If they were to go with that route, I would rather have just had the final battle shortened, and a bit more closure on what happens afterwards

. I think they should have killed off at least one more character, or done something more drastic to make it more memorable. Oh well, still a pretty solid series overall.

just killing off more characters wouldn't have made the ending any better. the point of the ending was that chamber finally understood what ledo had come to realize by living on gargantia with amy. he decided the best course of action was to sacrifice himself in order for ledo to live on and carry out his mission, and that he didn't need chamber for his purposes anymore. it wasn't delivered perfectly, but i did like it.
but it's not quite over yet, there is some sort of OVA coming out this season - possibly even this saturday.

OVA preview - coming august 28th

Does this take place before or after episode 13? It really looks like it's mid-series for some reason.

rtil

since he has his translator i'm guessing it takes place some time in the middle

OVA #2 is out. It's...pretty dark. This is much more the tone I was expecting the series to take as a whole, not that I minded the cheerfulness of the main series.

rtil

shit.. i'll be sure to prepare myself.

i was gonna watch it today but i didn't get around to it. looking forward to it, though.

Classic Gen Urobuchi.

ep 15 was pretty weak. everything felt really rushed and forced, and it didn't come across very clearly that Kugel became the way he did because of
Linaria's death and her last words
. i mean, i got the message of it all, but i just wasn't feeling it.

it's a good thing this isn't the last piece of Gargantia we're ever going to get, because it would be a real disappointing note to end on.
