I miss the Dreamcast, I wasn't at my dad's enough while they still sold games for it, so ours has a measely 3 games and thus is never used anymore.

For starters while the lack of force feed back built into the controller it didn't hurt it also didn't help any. If the controller did have it built in then you could have 800 blocks in the second bay plus the VMU (which would give you another 200) and still have the controller vibrate

the controller had a screen, which I thought was awesome. I didn't care if it vibrated against my boy crotch like some of these lads might have cared for.

The the slim line up of good 3rd party game really hurt the system yes Sega games are great and there are some third party games for the DC that are pretty cool but most are just average or worse.

More like Shut up and just play soul calibur and shut up!

But a even bigger problem is the GD drive. It is the only thing in the DC that is not off the shelf. Yes when the DC was in development DVD drives where unreliable and it is still expensive by the time the DC launched DVDs where much more reliable then the GD drive

I thought this was out before DVDs were even popular.

the dreamcast "failed" (in the united states) because it was ahead of its time. it pioneered 128-bit gaming, online console play and a lot of peripherals - some we still haven\\\'t seen again to this day (VMU\\\'s). it was a great console and i don\\\'t know anyone who owned one that didn\\\'t love it

it\\\'s still very popular in japan. people develop independent games for it and there are even sega stores that buy, sell and repair dreamcast units, controllers, devices and games

I wonder if the Dreamcast would have still been a huge sales failure if Microsoft didn't enter the console race. It probably would have still failed because its technology was considered really dated compared to the GameCube and lacked a right analog stick.

The Dreamcast failed because of Sega's shitty management, and people didn't get one because they were waiting for ps2. Their premature online push was probably a huge mistake too. It's sort of always blown my mind that most people didn't get a Dreamcast, because it had like a billion amazing games over the few years that it was supported.
