Sega probably should have waited a longer period of time to release the console so it would have been more on par with the PS2 when it came to graphics. However, I'm glad it failed because it caused me to get Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 on my GameCube. >_>

that's not the way hardware works. spending more time will not cause the graphics to get better

Fuzz

I'd say DreamCast graphics were nearly on par with PS2. Have you seen Shenmu or Soulcalibur?

How so? Sega would have never made GCN versions of those games if the Dreamcast was a success.

I don't own a Dreamcast and never would have owned one so I'm glad it failed. <_<

i'm not sure i'd call the dreamcast a failure - when i think of failures i think of the virtual boy, the 32x, the sega CD, the n-gage, the jaguar.. you know, consoles that actually failed. the dreamcast had decent success, dozens of incredible games and was and still is a solid piece of hardware. it also was officially supported by sega japan until 2007. in any case, i think you should be thanking the openness of sega and not the "failure" of the dreamcast for allowing you to play DC games on your gamecube. saying that you're happy the dreamcast "failed" so you could do that makes you sound like a selfish twat. unless that's what you were going for, in which case, congratulations

Just found out the sonic adventure 360 is really a port of the gamecube version in a higher res.

W.A.C.

Actually, it's a port of the PC version which was a port of the GCN version and that edition is a port of the Dreamcast version.
