I'm OK with this. I see nothing wrong with his desire to arrest the pope.
But chances he'd ever succeed are, in all honesty, nil.

I know I'm new here, so I don't have much of a frame of reference... but J_Seed seems cool to me...
But then again, I don't make stupid threads or make debate threads, because I hate debate threads and I think out a topic before making one.

I was a witness to a gangfight that ended with 2 guys dead and about 10 wounded.
Apparently, a banger from one of the gangs was puttin' it in the girl who was dating a banger from the other gang.
So they started fighting, brought out there buddies, and it turned into a massive brawl.
Then, someone pulls a gun, 1 guy receives a bullet to the cranium, another guy takes one in the gut; a few others get shanked or shot, and that was about it...

General / What is "Style"?
April 14, 2010 03:56 AM
This will seem like a speech... Sorry in advance.

Style: To put a personal spin on something, making it your own.
(My definition)

An artist's style can be influenced by many things, anything from the way you hold the tool(s) of your trade to how you utilize them.
Sure, there's always an orthodox manner in which to do something, a standard set by someone else; but in the world of artistic expression, that standard should just be considered a base to start from, not to stay on for all time.

No matter what the medium; each person does it slightly different. If all artists did everything the same way, the world of art would not be anywhere near as diverse. The spectrum of styles would never be as wide as it is.
Take up your tools... whether they be pencil, brush, a musical instrument... a tablet & stylus or mouse & keyboard; and take your idea, and make it your own. Invest emotion, thought, time and energy into something; and it will be yours...
After all the emotion and time, etc. you've invested into your work; you will know that giving up is not acceptable. To give up at that point is to throw away the time and stuff you invested into it! I do that with my music.
While I don't have any completed, mastered, published works; I feel that I am working toward them, and although progress is slow, I know its happening.

tl;dr
Do it your own way. Don't do it to other people's standards if you want it to truly be "your style".

Pantera - The Great Southern Trendkill

Not their greatest work altogether, but one track stands out far beyond the rest of them.
Track 9, entitled Floods, has the longest guitar solo out of any of their songs, and not just one solo, but two. The song has 3 guitar tracks, one rhythm guitar track, one lead, and during the solos, the lead is doubled. As with many of their other tracks, it has soft verses, and growling chorus'; aggressive percussion, and a thumping bassline.
In an interview, they explained that the lyrics are speaking of the apocalypse, which explains some of them, such as "During the day, mankind played with grenades; and at night, they might paint the pentagram, extinguishing the sun" ...something like that

Apple developed the iPad because they know how hipster Mac-lovers work and how to get the to shell out top dollar for inferior hardware running a mediocre operating system; or a gimmick device that is inferior to a tablet PC due to its lockout on external peripherals and limited choice of software.

Cell phone, wallet, keys.
In the wallet: State ID card, School ID (Acts as a unlimited bus pass until May 22, 2010!), and $2 for bus fare, in case of emergency/loss of the School ID.

EDIT: Oh, and library card.

Y'know what was (not) awesome in the Sonic franchise? (Besides most of it.)
Sonic Drift. Formerly known as Another Festering Bucket of Bile from Sega.

Not only is the voice acting terrible, but the first two phalanges of his fingers disappeared when he was searching his pockets. I take this to mean, in the universe of that game, it is possible for you pockets to eat your fingers. That's about as real as gum that chews you, or something along those lines. I'm not great with analogies.

I don't know much about FL Studio, so anything you say, I'll try.
OK, so I'm trying to make a drumtrack, because I don't have a drumset.
But I'm really new to FL Studio, so I don't know if its possible to break up a track into different sequences, within FLS itself.
Kind of like, have different tracks, but I want to make them in an interchangeable, like I could "drag and drop" the different tracks to put them in a certain order.
For example, I have tracks "A", "B", "C", and "D"; and I want to have them sequenced A-B-A-C-C-B-A-D-C.

All help is appreciated.

Shittiest game I know of was called SPLAT!, the controls were overly complex for an arcade cabinet game, it was ridiculously hard to beat any of the levels, and the premise was nothing special. "Throw tomatoes at your enemies! With a good shot, you'll knock the head off their shoulders!"

Yeah, I saw that too. And boy, was I pleased to find that my simpleminded friends decided to use it ALL. DAY. LONG.
So yeah, Google... Just as a fyi... Make this thing a seperate body from GMail, or your userbase may hit the road out of the sheer annoyance.
