ok i've kept pretty quiet over your stuff but this set me over the edge. first of all, putting you and your pieces name as obtrusively as that is an absolutely horrible idea. you obviously don't know shit about typography and it's just fucking there. you should maybe sign it but not in huge text next to a copyright symbol i mean you'd think this would be obvious but nope.

also, you're using pictures that you blended together and don't own. putting THOMAS "GHOSTING LOSTMAN" K PRODUCTIONS COPYRIGHT © 2011 is so fucking tasteless and bad. it would be like if a mediocre dj sampled a well-known song for some song and every 20 seconds blared "THIS SONG IS BY DJ FUCKYOU DO NOT STEAL THIS IS MY ORIGINAL WORK COPYRIGHT". The artists who actually made those paintings didnt put in huge text CASTELVANIA PRODUCTIONS DO NOT STEAL THIS IS MY ART FUCK YOU.

its not art, its frekin promotional wallpapers.. And it is nowhere near 50 pt. Thats just how it rendered.. But what do i know. i have to start somewhere but im just too much of an idiot..

Yeah I'm going to be honest, the most annoying thing ever is when you find this awesome image you want to use as your wallpaper and then along the bottom is all this copyright text and/or the artist's deviantArt (etc) account and/or the artist's email, and so on.

Sure these things are copyrighted anyways, but I don't understand the need to put it on any image at all unless it's so amazing that there is a possibility that somebody may actually steal it for something, which is probably less than 1% of art on the internet in general. This isn't generally directed at you terry, but at everyone.

Have you looked into learning how to make discreet, transparent watermarks?

Examples of what I mean:

and the dA watermark is kinda obnoxious with the 2 watermarks(?) already there, but it gets the idea across - http://sakimichan.deviantart.com/art/Tree-Light-193865475

...And also, as the above also demonstrates in example, if you're that afraid of your works being stolen, there's also the option of shrinking your stuff down some so you'll always have the huge, original copy (and I know this is sold at cons as prints; the big, "in person" size of this piece is much prettier and leaves more of an impression than the dimensions seen here). Personally preferred over something like "save in a clearly disgusting format so you'll be the only one with the pretty format".

imo there is no reason to be afraid of your work being stolen. slapping giant watermarks on your art is stupid, even the smallest art thieves pretty much always get caught and taken care of - there's always someone out there who will recognize stolen art and spread the word.

watermarks ruin art and i feel like people only put them on their work to feel self-important.
