bwg and dq aren't even that bad (though they're both ugly)

slag pits and metalopolis are awful maps, with either really short or really long rush distances

typhon peaks is retarded, it has grass in your main, and it's also too damn huge - but at least it has some real chokes so it's possible to defend expos, unlike shattered temple
how are backwater and delta not bad?

in delta your real natural has rocks on it and a cliff people can land shit on and harass with
your forced natural is near impossible to hold off aggression as zerg against 2 rax and 4 gate unless your opponent is terrible

in backwater your ramp is retardedly huge with 2 extra entrances. every protoss and zerg is forced to rush on it and there's no real 3rd

you probably don't see the imbalances on it because your opponents are terrible

Crabarms

Going up against better bronze players. Got 4gated still not very good at getting enough roaches/getting spine crawlers in time.
I'm really using my zerglings badly. Not taking the time to run around the map with them and lazily having them as static defense.
Not protecting my natural very well, a lot of times I do see things coming but I never pull the drones off and they get destroyed. Getting used to the idea that Roaches can block the ramp and I should be doing that. Learning some things on what to scout for while in an enemies base such as noticing the energy meter on the nexus, checking for certain buildings or any expansions a lot of my other games I don't really take in on what I see and what I should be doing just only noticing where the enemy is at.

Survived ZvZ, got my natural destroyed among with a queen and a few drones it set me back a lot and it could of been avoided. 10 minutes in I prepared for air attacks, spent too much on spore crawlers and probably could of waited a bit before getting a spire. Eventually there was a few mutas but I was prepared, was able to use the mass that I created to take down his spire, evolution chamber and a queen. Probably should of went for his drones. He pulled half his army back and I was able to easily take the remains. Had time to expand probably should of been sooner but I got upgrades and saw he had hydras so I made a few more roaches. He gave up. Might of been a win for him if he pursued but I was starting to gain an edge on economy and upgrades.

24 point wins is unusual to me. Used to get 2-6 if I was earning points. Then when I got a solid win streak it would be like - 18.

rtil

if you get a low amount of points for winnings it means you were slightly or straight up favored. a normal ladder match + typical bonus pool point win is ~24 pts.

Gerkinman

So thats why I won 5 games in a row and only got 2 points all up...

ZVZ almost lost to a bunch of Mutas. Early on I had a bit more slings then he did but I wanted to pick off workers but got a few taken away I backed off. I put on gas he he had double gas so I was behind in that should of looked for it when I was there. I went roaches encase he tried to attack me. I sent a ling to check for a spire and I found one. I then made an evo chamber and started making spores. It held him off a little and came back with more I droned a bit more to compensate for lost workers.  He took out my spire and then retreats. I made a bunch of queens and spread creep a bit and got another expansion. He comes back with banelings and my four roaches prevented a lot of damage that could of been done. I then sent some roaches to counter attack and destroyed his other base with the mutas I made.

Next time I think I should have the spores a bit closer to important structures and have the spire in a safe place. My counterattack could of been a bit better if I commanded it but I hoping to save time and get my economy back up. Maybe could of had an extra queen earlier, if I didn't need it could of sent the next expansion.

ZVT just bad baneling busts in the beginning. I think attacking from different directions would of been a better decision when fighting his MMM, I just rammed units and lost them. Don't think I picked up baneling speed that probably would of helped. I could of won this one but losing my hive just pretty much made me  thought he had more coming and I wouldn't have enough stuff to deal with it even though I had a bunch of mutas. Should of saved infestor energy that would of been a ton of help but I made a bunch of infested terrans and messed with his workers. I also didn't see how many turrets he had, I could of done some drops.

Probably should be sacking overlords but I just hate using them against Terran and losing it to a marine, but I guess I should think ahead and make another before getting supply blocked.

in the zvz game:
  • you are scouting sometimes but not enough. you should always ask yourself this question: "do i know what my opponent is doing?" if the answer is "no", go scout.
  • you overreacted to the mutalisks. you do not need that many spores. instead of investing on spore crawlers, get out an army counter for mutas. hydras and infestors are good choices - most especially in that game infestors, since 1 fungal will heavily damage mutas as well as one-shot banelings/zerglings. not only that, but it keeps them stuck in place so other units can do damage without being attacked.
  • you had your 2nd base much faster than the other guy, yet he was actually gathering more resources than you because he had better saturation. while a new hatcheries first purpose may be for the extra larva, you also need the extra economy to support the output. you have to drone up whenever possible. don't be afraid to oversaturate your main base so that you can instantly transfer drones to your new base when it is done. you want to have 16 drones on minerals per base.
  • if you spawn on close positions, you want to focus on getting zergling speed first. you both finished researching it around the 6 minute mark, which is very late. a good opener for close positions zvz is 9 overlord, 14 gas, 14 pool, 15 overlord, 16 queen. take your drones off gas after the first 100 gas, when your spawning pool finishes you can instantly get metabolic boost AND the queen (if you did it right). from this point on you can make lots of speedlings and start harassing and maybe even finish your opponent off quickly.
  • i liked the use of transfuse on a queen during a fight with the mutas. don't forget you can also transfuse buildings - you had a spore that was very low on health. one or two transfuses will put it back to almost full health
and now for the zvt..
  • i like the style of early aggression. however, if you want to bust the wall, you need an early baneling nest. don't stop harvesting gas for this. all you need is 6 banelings. what you do is morph the banelings right outside of his base, send the banelings up and have them hit the supply depot. the depot will explode, allowing your lings to run straight up the ramp. you could have easily won that game very early on. focus on the army units first and the production facilities, then turn to the workers. don't forget to keep sending reinforcements as well.
  • you were outmacroing the terran the entire game. there was no reason for you to lose this game. i think the biggest issue was that you would attack blindly without knowing what you were running in to. a good thing to do is to send 1 zergling out to the terran base to see what kills it. then you will know a few important things - especially things like base defenses and seiged tanks. the banelings should hit the marines first. the zerglings hit the marauders and the seige tanks. the mutas should stay OUT of the range of marine fire. marines hard counter mutas.
  • you can also use mutas to harrass mineral lines. this hit and run style is very effective since the mutalisk is fast and in large numbers do a lot of damage.
  • i liked the creative use of infestors, however you don't want to waste all the energy on infested terrans. fungal growth is much better for a few reasons - if you fungal workers, your opponent does not get a warning that their SCV's are under attack. this is a super stealthy way of killing workers. and, fungals do far more damage to MM blobs than infested terrans will. as you noticed, they would kill the infested terran eggs before they hatched.
  • don't forget to constantly overlord scout the terran base and production facilities. you will learn critical information from this. this is especially important around the 5 minute mark. you could probably get away with 6 minutes since you are in bronze. but the higher you go, the faster timing pushes come, and the stronger they will become.
overall i think you are definitely improving. but what you really need to work on is droning, creep spread, and injection timings.

bind your queens to a hotkey and practice the method in this video (it involves remapping backspace to spacebar - it's a global hotkey for centering on a main base)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4Ey6LeC4Ds

and you should have an extra queen or two for creep spread. you can spread creep amazingly fast with a dedicated creep queen.

Crabarms

Think I got a better understanding of that inject method down. I was letting shift V go then just pushing v then clicking to inject then pushing space causing my queens to run all over the place.

Will try that out in my next games, thanks for the advice.

rtil

the method is prone to having queens run around if a base is empty. there's a way to fix that and it involves remapping the hotkey for cycling through hotkeyed units, but in my opinion it's not 100% accurate when going cycling through the hatcheries and you should have a queen at each hatch anyway.
