It's supposed to be a saw, though I never really drew him actually holding it. Trying to figure out how to draw him sawing someone sometime.

XD "noelec" is the weird file name for "No Electricity Day".

The characters are for an admittedly heavily TF2 inspired screenplay I'm writing for screenwriting class. I tend to have a better understanding for my characters after drawing them.

Basically:
RED Medic = Enlai
RED Engie = Chriselda
BLU Scout + Witch = Banshee
Announcer = Harriet

...I'm having SO much trouble designing the protagonist (Minou the RED Spy) and another dude (Warren the BLU Spy).

HTTYD inspired me, so I doodled in TV Production class again. Random zoology notes from head (ex: saw scale vipers don't rattle since they're clearly not rattlesnakes; They make a crackling/sizzling sound while coiling and rubbing their somewhat-saw-edged scales against one another// rhinos have tough armored skin and they're able to move since they're LOTS of folds in their skin) + some help from my friends (dragon looked off-balance; have it lunging or running instead; motion).



Saw a Bioshock Tegaki RP and decided it was time to practice using my tablet + trying out colors again.

needs more texture

I had a some trouble figuring out what you meant, but I had to agree that it looked kinda blah and flat. Wasn't quite sure how to add more texture since I wanted to avoid wonky/bad shading as much as I could. In a way, is texture like a spin-off from shading?

Anyways, I tried something and I think it looks much better this time around. I left one picture unlined for the sake of comparison.

As a few people may know, I'm trying to join a Bioshock Tegaki RP. Basically, to get your character in, you have to draw an application (like a mini sheet) and the folks in charge of the RP decide whether or not they want your character. It's essentially an art audition.

This character didn't make it. She got passed.


So, here's another character. Crossing fingers, but not holding my breath too hard since another good-looking app got passed too.


I'm mentally facepalming at how I took the eyes-first approach to the 2nd app and it just looks better...

I like the arts here.  you do some nice lineart and I like the redhead's colors. Red and violet is always a fun color combo for me.

Experimented with drawing something that's not a 3/4 view for once and coloring with opacity.



...How on earth do you draw a front view without making it look, well, flat?

Also, my "style"(?) is broken. It keeps flipping between anime to stylized to "Disney" to anime all the time.
