Ever felt like a game punishes you for being good?

This happened to me many times today:

Her instant kill is pretty easy to avoid bro.

I can't think of anything that's busted my balls like that lately though. I think video games need more instant kills to keep you on your toes.

Dynamite Headdy is ridiculous.  The final boss has a laser beam that covers the whole screen.

grand theft auto iv for the pc. you almost finish the bank robbery mission and then, pow, "OUT OF VIDEO MEMORY!" and you're reloading the game

Now I remember that damn bank heist mission.

Best mission in the game but the fact that you have to lose your wanted level after all then get back to the house is just insane.

playing unreal tournament online for 15 minutes was a pretty fucking frustrating experience
everybody but me was bouncing off the walls like crazy

but when it comes to actual single-player games, yeah, some of them have some really unfair moments, but instant kills really work well to keep you on your toes without being too frustrating sometimes

Also, Left 4 Dead is hella frustrating as well.  Especially on Versus mode when your team is outmatched by another team that's way better than you are.

Although the NES ahd a lot of unfair games

feel free to laugh but this game has some of the hardest last levels i've ever seen evilly manipulated into the fabric of gameplay.
