i have a hard time telling the difference, i mean besides the amount of time it takes to do either thing, games are generally considered fun if they're challenging, and animation is equally if not more challenging. and there's no trick or gimmick to it, it's a little different every time and there's no way to cheat or break the system. disney called it 'magic' but i think that's kind of gay so i don't know what to call it!

It depends what your animating too. I find animation alot funner when im doing it to the beat of a piece of music then i do when theres dialogue and such involved. Lipsyncing is the only part of animation ive experienced id call torture. That and resizes.

Take out the dudes on the bottom, then go around the back rather then strait ahead, i found it much easier that ways atleast.

my roommate finally got gta4 mm great now i wont be able to stop playing it

also ill tell you what, you don\\\'t quite realize how torturous animation really is until you\\\'ve had a day like i did today!
7am wake up, study all morning, midterm from 10am-1pm, turned it in unfinished, film criticism class from 1pm-3pm, didnt do the homework so i made up the answers to all the quizes, then animated on an etch-a-sketch in a cramped dark room from 3-11!! all in the same building. no breakfast. no lunch. no dinner. a single fuckin snack machine which stole all my quarters.

man ive never needed to plow through a crowd of people in gta4 this badly

in fact, theres the value of videogames right there. had i not come back to my dorm to discover this fine game, i would have literally gone out, jacked a car, and slammed it into sunset boulevard

well i've had horrible days at animation school but uh no food that's unbearable  although if i eat a huge meal i usually can't focus on working for like an hour

lmfao thats what i get for taking graduate level classes as an undergrad

also i have mondays, wednesdays, and fridays off. tuesdays and thursdays are torture days but i get the rest of the week off its nice

I need my games,  I was a gamer first before I was ever interested in animatin'.

now that I have less time Im more finicky with my games, and usually wait until they have been out for sometime before grabbing a copy.

for the most part I get games so I can chill with my bro, Im down here in Philly and hes about 4 hours away in Long Island, so playing games online and having a few laughs is how we do things.

I also think the way games have been getting lately they've become a really intense new medium for storytelling, more so than before.

And As much as I love to make stories and little action scenes, there's nothing quite as trippy as controlling your animation for the very first time. after something like that, making games can get almost as addictive as playing them.
