I don't enjoy any of this stuff all that much anymore but I still think its better than most other shit thats on TV atm.

The most recent thing to happen, and something that sent Tumblr into a tizzy was that Garnet turned out to actual be a fusion of two lover gems, hell, she even sang a song about how it made her stronger after it was revealed. Of course this means that Garnett exists thanks to a lesbian relationship according to Tumblr, but these same people are also defending it from angry parents by insisting the gems are genderless (which according to the creator they are) which kind of makes the whole thing pointless.

Having two girls kiss ain't subtle at all, especially when its followed up with a jam about how it makes you kick ass. Don't get me wrong, I love watching girls make out as much as the next dude does. It was just really in your face about it despite the fact the lore behind it makes it rather pointless. Thats how they got it around the censors I guess.

The gems in the show have been shown to be a weird combination of robotic hologram people who are mass produced mixed with a sort of sort of savage Amazonian race. They don't understand alot of paradigms about social etiquette, culture, or what is appropriate and have done quite a few incredibly cruel things through the shows run, sometimes on purpose and sometimes on accident. They are presented as being very flawed in multiple ways.

The show has done a good job of showing how underneath their awkwardly kind outer demeanor, they are alien as fuck. And desperately trying to learn otherwise for the sake of caring for this little boy. Reminds me of the early seasons of 3rd Rock From the Sun before everyone got used to pretending to be human and the alien theme was almost dropped entirely up til the series finale.

Steven Universe - Greg Tells Steven How His Mom Died (Clip) The Return

The gay kiss in the show was pretty much like the one from Clarence a few months ago. Quick, cute, and affectionate. Although the one in Clarence was played for laughs a bit at the expense of Clarence's teacher.

It's weird that this kiss is generating any controversy at all considering what lead up to it and its importance. I don't get why this kiss, which was basically like an old married couple being split apart and reunited, is causing more butthurt. It actually had a reason to happen in SU unlike Clarence.
