"He was shown the smallness and tinsel emptiness of the little Earth gods, with their petty, human interests and connections - their hatreds, rages, loves and vanities; their craving for praise and sacrifice and their demands for faiths contrary to reason and nature."

rough gif loop of some actual animation b/c the first one up top looks hideous to me now.

i'm not sure if i got the feathers to look "flowy" enough, especially the ones on top when he turns his head.
if anyone can give me pointers on how to make flowy animation, let me know.
(and don't say 'the style sucks' or 'pokemon is gay')

and i also need to get in the habit of posting my art here more lol.

farfetch'd!! ^-^

lovely art you have! keep it up!

a good way to do 'flowy' animation is to first create a flowing line in the way you'd want the object to move, and you can tween it up or down depending on the direction you want it to flow. you can then go over it on another layer with the object loosely following the flowing movement of the line, while keeping in mind that there shoudl be follow-through where there needs to be. i think the head and the leek (?) are fine, although for his wing i don't think it actually needs to move a whole lot since duck wings tend to actually stay fairly still. there could maybe be a little motion on those nubbed feathers but i wouldn't overdo it.

heres the cleaned up animation loop + another version that's way past overdue (though i kinda liked the rough better)

and some sketches from the last month or so

rtil

the animation turned out pretty good, but i think a simple bobbing motion on the bird would have added a lot to it, since he is in the water and all. but the color choices are nice.

the new sketches look great. i'm looking forward to seeing them colored

bd648

i like the last sketch with mr.3. damn nice

here's one of the sketches colored. i'm still wondering if i should add a more detailed background somehow without taking away from the simplicity i'm aiming for.

Sterling

I'd say leave it be. It looks fekkin' awesome. At most, maybe a few shapes in pink and yellow.

rtil

yeah, don't overwork it

Stu4U

i decided not to mess with it anymore a couple minutes after posting actually :p
glad we're all sorta on the same page here

pls help me break out of same angle syndrome

try creating a perspective grid from an interesting angle and then placing characters in it
