for the backgrounds stuff, once you have the big shapes and silhouettes figured out, is when you can start carving in additional pieces of detail. it looks like you started doing it a little bit on some of the pieces. you mostly use atmospherics to imply depth which i usually prefer over perspective which sometimes feels forced. so there's some good things to work off of there. just keep in mind to avoid things like twinning shapes, and make sure the background elements are used as framing devices and lead the eyes towards important places.
