This is some good ambient  dubby stuff. Also this group formed in Detroit so that's always plus.

The Coldest Season is one of the best dub techno/ambient dub albums out there. Up there with Biokinetics, Multila, Visions of Blah and early Monolake.

I mentioned this in IRC but DAOKO's major label debut is my AOTY so far:

I've had it downloaded for almost a week, I'm just waiting for a night that I'm sure I won't fall asleep halfway through it.

Water Slides is pretty good, but I think the album version of the opener is one of my favorite songs they've done.

Maybe I should give Japanese post-rock another chance.

Just listened to Mew's new album. Can't say I liked it nearly as much as their last three, but I guess it could grow on me like Glass Handed Kites did.

Satellites: As I said, this is one of my favorite tracks of theirs. Pretty much sums up everything I like about the band. Interestingly structured and intricately produced while remaining catchy and avoiding bombast.
Witness: Probably my least favorite song they've released. Mew can do straightforward songs (Symmetry, Beach) and driving post-punk (Snow Brigade, Repeaterbeater) really well, but apparently not at the same time.
The Night Believer: I like this song pretty well, but it's frustrating how it fades out right when it gets really interesting. With some notable exceptions (Am I Wry? No), Mew doesn't usually do codas very well, but it's more apparent on this album because the tracks don't flow as seamlessly.
Making Friends: Another one of my favorites on the album. Makes me wish they had done more trip-hop explorations or at least genre hopping.
Clinging to a Bad Dream: I would have liked this one a lot more had they fired their guitarist halfway through because he totally ruins the outro, which would otherwise have been one of the most striking points on the album.
My Complications: I like the vocal harmonizing and some of the melody on this track but otherwise it's kind of forgettable. Too straightforwardly "rocky" to embody what I like about the band.
Water Slides: I like the album version of this track a lot more than the single, even if the chorus is a bit annoying.
Interview the Girls: I like the synths, but otherwise feel pretty much the same about this track as My Complications. At this point I think 4/4 beats are way overplayed on this album, so the downtempo moments are increasingly welcome and I wish there had been more up to this point.
Rows: Definitely one of the better tracks on the album. Not nearly as standout as White Lips Kissed or Sometimes Life Isn't Easy, but still good.
Cross The River On Your Own: Doesn't quite hit all the notes I expected or wanted it to, but that's just nitpicking. A 10/10 closer in the tradition of their last three albums.

Conclusion: Befitting it's title, +- contains some of my favorite, as well as least favorite material from the band. I think it could have been vastly improved had Mew not tried so hard to be a generic rock act on most of the songs, and maybe had let their guitarist just sit out for the whole album. Sparser arrangements and more downtempo tracks would have been a step in the right direction, but I won't get my hopes up that Mew ever takes a page out of Roberto Burgos's book and goes full ambient pop on any subsequent release. One can dream I guess.

Even though, albeit less riot grrrl-ish than they used to be, Sleater-Kinney are still kicking a lot of ass. Also this japanese funk song is great.

Also new Leprous is out, mega-hyped. But this might only matter to me.

Wasn't expecting to enjoy this album at all. I think a lot of the concepts Holly claims to be pioneering in music were explored less self consciously a decade and a half ago by artists on labels like Mille Plateaux, Mego, Raster-Noton, Force Tracks, Kompakt, Kranky, ~scape, Context, etc., and more recently by people like James Ferraro, Daniel Lopatin and the vaporwave posse. Even so, this album has a lot more personality than any IDM LP released last year, even if the first two tracks write a check the last eight can't cash.
