the image itself is 253x253 (or around there I don't remember) so I added a sheet of the same size (also the default size) and it fit perfectly. Didn't have to fight with the texture all that much. This was just me trying out custom textures for the first time.

there are a few unfinished maps I have that I want to continue, but no one really plays this game anymore so it would probably be a bit more unproductive. Maybe one of these days I'll look into the Unreal Development Kit and play around with that. With that said, does anyone play UT3? I only played that once and I don't know if it had a really loyal playerbase or is already forgotten.

but yeah I only just learned that you can easily upload .bmp's into unreal ed directly so I did the mature thing and googled for images of cute anime girls to see if I could put them up on walls like posters as a test and here we are.

UT2004 still has players but they're mostly angry krauts in my experience... UT3 had players when it was free on steam and there's probably still a community but frankly the whole thing is far weaker than UT2004.

Checking my steam games, yeah, I have both UT2004 and UT3 installed.

The only servers with people that play custom maps in UT2004 are Onslaught servers. Everyone in DM really only just play DM-Rankin which was the demo level for the game which also makes me wonder why these people even bothered to buy the game in the first place.

I find that a bit preposterous to be playing on demo servers on the retail full game. Especially on an older game that probably would cost at least $20 or less.
