Half-Life developer and Cartoon Network brand working together on mystery project; Team Fortress 2 tie-in suggested.

The developer of Half-Life and the TV network behind Robot Chicken are working together on a mystery project to be announced next week. A promo page on the Adult Swim website is touting the team-up with a tease for interested viewers.

"Adult Swim & Valve are teaming up for something that you'll probably enjoy," the site promises. "To learn how their video game peanut butter will be getting in our network's chocolate, come back next week."

While the details aren't clear, a Team Fortress 2 tie-in is implied. Character art from the free-to-play team-based shooter adorns the page, and the site's keyword content tags include the game's name, as well as classes like "the heavy, the scout, the soldier, the engineer, the demoman," among others. Back in February, Valve teased that a "brand new" secret project involving Team Fortress 2 was in the works.

I have kinda lost that hype that I used to have for tf2 as well and I haven't played it at all in the past months. But still... it was fun while it lasted and it is still one of my favorite multiplayer games, which is why I would probably never uninstall it. Occasionally, it can be quite a blast to revive the spirits of the past and especially for tf2 I have a feeling that it can hardly lose its charme for good. The online store applications as well as the fact that the game can be obtained for free now certainly did take away parts of the pleasure but I still wouldn't say that it has turned into something boring. Of course things get boring after you have spent a certain time with them but certain hypes can come back, even through minor changes... And it a couple of years, after a long break, having a good old match of tf2 might actually feel quite special in a nostalgic way for some of us...

<@reptilicus> if i go to the toilet will poop go up into my rectum

Greenkitten

They might animate a series to the backstory of TF2, that would be cool.

If it does happen I just hope that they don't do terrible Aussie accents like most American media does, sometimes its just puke worthy what they do to our poor old accents.

sev

>the TV network behind Robot Chicken

is this really what people call adult swim now? :/

naturally

rtil

yeah the pyro page now says "meet the pyro coming june 27th"

ZennyPLUS

Sounds like it. I wonder why Valve would go through the trouble of having [as] on board for this though, when they are fully capable of producing something excellent themselves. Other than money.

Sinitron

the world of tf2 through the eyes of the pyro in a 12-part miniseries focusing on different games modes, classes and interaction between teams
