that's kind of my point - the second you make a big deal out of something you claim to not care about, you've done the exact opposite. having pride in it is even more bizarre and hypocritical. plus it's not even a gender by any definition. but we all know that

Maybe they mean "unimportant" as in "I don't decide what I wear or how femininely or masculinely I act by it", and not "I don't care about gendershit at all".

wouldn't not being able to decide what you wear be something else, then? like maybe there's a made-up gender for people who feel like their own identity is out of their own immediate control? i'm assuming you're talking about people who can't afford their own clothes or can only choose what kind of clothes are given to them by their parent/guardian(s) or whatever they can get their hands on. otherwise, in a literal sense, i can't think of anyone past the age of 5 who doesn't make a conscious decision about the clothes they wear.

and just throwing on whatever because it's not important to you isn't a gender, just a lifestyle choice or simple laziness.

really the biggest problem with "cassgender" is that it's too nebulous to have any meaningful application to gender identity.

I think "people who don't care about gender" would more accurately be labeled cisgender honestly.

My example was kinda limited; I think it encompasses more than that. How you look, act, walk, talk, who you interact with, how you interact with them, what can be expected of you at any given moment, what can't be expected of you. The clothes are just a quick way of signaling it, but it goes deeper.

Less "throwing on whatever because it, the act of dressing, not important to you" and more "throwing on whatever style or look because they, the styles or looks, is not important to you, so you don't feel the need to conform to them". The distinction is kind of fine, but it's there.

Well I guess it depends on your perception, whether or not you believe in free will or whatever, and to what extent. The anecdote I gave wasn't really supposed to be evidence, I just thought it was funny. I do know for a fact that when I was five or six and trying on dresses in my closet it didn't really feel like a choice.
