there are dozens of lego knockoffs. the most well known is megablocks. if they still exist i dont really thing lego is doing much.

they actually all look pretty damn similar, the only way you can tell is by looking closely, and they also feel cheaper than legos

you can tell megablocks apart for 2 reasons: the blocks are bulkier, and the characters do not look like lego people. functionally they are the same, though. i also haven't seen a megablocks set in a store in years.
