thats because there is no real cohesion behind any of the ideas ergo nobody places immediate importance on them and they never get done

another problem is that with a collab like this that relies on teamwork (not just random parts where people can be easily replaced), if even one person backs out then the whole thing can easily fall apart, unless the organizer is willing to pick up where that person left off.

kind of spouting shit here as i don't know if people even mind about this kind of thing anymore and i hate to be the one to bring this up as i'm just setting myself up for conflict at the mere mention of newgrounds, but i think the question needs to be asked what would happen to a collab if we DID make it. not a lot of people here really go to or care at all about newgrounds much anymore (to my knowledge) and some people don't even want a single thing to do with it ever again.

i mean, like it or not, flash cartoons generally don't get nearly as much exposure on something like youtube or vimeo as they do on ng. newgrounds has people who specifically come for flash animation (more flash games nowadays, but still), while youtube users come looking for anything and everything. newgrounds is smaller and deals with a much more specific medium than that of just "video", which means things that would get around 300 views on youtube get thousands on newgrounds because of the smaller range of content.

not saying that art for art's sake isn't fantastic or worthwhile, i just assume that the decreased exposure demotivates people from actually pulling through and accomplishing something like this

a lot of the old ng faggots are on youtube now getting millions of views for their dumbass parodies

in fact the only reason they probably still post their cartoons on newgrounds is for old times' sake, youtube is where the money is at. you can make a couple thousand dollars for every video with youtube revenue sharing and they're not that hard to make.
