welcome back everyone. i've converted the old forum to SMF 2.0. this is a 5 year+ software upgrade, moving from old, closed-source software to modern, open-source and free software.

here's some new features:

• embedding videos and mp3's is much easier. simply copy and paste the URL of the video or music file. it will automatically embed for you. no bbcode needed! supports hundreds of sites.
• user karma. it's not visually appealing atm, but it will be later.
• more bbcode options for editing your posts
• the interface as a whole is a lot different. while some features are (temporarily) missing that you might be used to, you should look around and see what has changed, what is different, and what is new.

here's some stuff i have not gotten to yet (this will all take a while):

• the forum obviously needs to be reskinned. this will be a long process but definitely don't think i will keep this default skin for long. eventually it will look pretty much like the previous skin.
• flash embedding and hidden embeds are currently unavailable.
• skype username profile box is currently unavailable.
• quick post is currently unavailable.
• after posting you are taking to the forum instead of the thread. this change annoys me. if it annoys you as well, please let me know and i'll see if i can change it.

bp; forum is not resizing your sigs or av quite like the old one so make sure your size them appropriately until hes  sorts it out

i will try and fix image sizes right now. it was CSS that was keeping them in check in the past, and it should be an easy fix.

alright, signature and avatar size limits are back. no need to worry about the actual image dimensions (as long as they're not fucking wallpaper size and taking up bandwidth), CSS will auto-resize them for you. but for the curious, max width for avatars is 160px and max height for signature is 200px. the other measurement is automatically calculated for scale.

I'm missing the dark theme of tba - this one is jarring especially with all the old posts. That is my only niggle.
I don't know why SMF is redirecting people to the forum after posting - I don't remember that happening with the install I used a while ago...
