I don't know about all of you, but I've always enjoyed Disney movies.

Not the lastest ones, but the old good stuff.

Like Beauty and The Beast, Sleeping Beauty, and Tarzan and what not.

Although, I loved Treasure Planet. It's not every time that you get a Disney movie that doesn't have a musical number in every scene.

But still.

And now they're making all this 3D crap and motion pictures.

Bring back cartoon animated movies!

hhahahaha you wish
actually, read this: http://www.animationmagazine.net/article/6388

disney has re-opened it's florida 2d animation studio.

i liked treasure planet as well, but on disney's terms the film was a complete failure. it didn't hit its target market and lost millions of dollars.

that's always good to hear!

and as for Treasure Planet, I saw that movie three times in the theater and ate McDonalds to get a little Morph doll. Frickin' awesome.

haha, my animation teacher from last year worked on the brother bear film. he did the fx for it like the water splashes etc. he hated that movie because of the phil collins soundtrack, forgettable characters and throwaway wish-wash story.

redmongoose

wtf was disney thinking hiring phil collins to do anything other than kill himself

haha my little sister was obsessed with Mulin when it came out. She had a little Mulin doll on her cake on her forth birthday and I'd take it from her just to make her cry  I'm such a nice sister.

I liked treasure planet, it was a cool spin off of treasure island, with a lot of originality aswell.

3d isn't all bad, Pixar really is amazing, it's just that everything else is bad. There are too many Pixar wannabees out there now.

dilly

But it seems that anyone can make 3D art. 2D art depicts a person skill and ability to draw rather than make shapes on a computer.

Pixar is the best out there, hands down. It's also thanks to Pixar that Disney is making a turnaround and smarter decisions as well. So the animation industry has to hand it to Pixar for saving the US animation market - not only for their animation skills, but their ability to tell a story as well.

Anyone can download 3ds max and make a pretty looking rendered scene with pre-made parameters and modifiers, but making something organic in a 3d environment is what takes skill. there are lots of terrible 3D models out there, even in the professional world (AKA Jimmy Neutron), because people don't understand the importance of character design, volume, and working in a psuedo-3d environment. But I do believe it first takes the required skill in traditional, 2D mediums (as well as sculpting), before you can really grab ahold of the 3d world.

Jimmy Neutron has awful design, unoiginal characters, bad actors, lame writers, and it pretty much just sucks.

I have always hated it. It's like the worst thing since... ever.

dilly

Agreed. Plus, nobody likes a kid smarter than them and brags about it.

I think the only Nick show I like is Fairly Odd Parents. *shrugs*

i don't think any of thoes shows are really worth the time.  but jimmy nuetron does suck, spongebob is ok but not the best and fairly odd parents is ok

dilly

Spongebob is ok sometimes... I've watched it sense the beginning, and it just kinda out grew me. The movie version totally ruined the series for me, though.

I want my $5.50 back...
