-do you feel like you dont put enough thought into your thinking?

- do you feel like your thoughts just kind of come without much effort on your part?

-are your thoughts dominated by memories, conversations. kind of autopilot, if you know what i mean.

-or do you feel like you put your mind on a constant effort to invent new thoughts or contemplate shit that you dont really think about without much effort. like new jokes, situations, conscious efforts to put twists on the everyday shit you take in.

-do you look at the water bottle on your desk and try to come up with interesting thoughts about water bottles or do you just glaze over it.

-do you think you could create something creative and interesting about water bottles if you were held at gunpoint?

-do you ever stare at the ceiling of your room without realizing that you are even doing that?

-how often do you think about everything you see, do you think you could translate it into pretty words.

-do you think that's gay? -is the activity in your mind dominated by typical thoughts andmemories or 'new thoughts' and creativity?

-do you think that both can co exist and create cool shit? how do you feel personally about your mind, and do you worry if it is stale.

-do you think people that self-consciously '''think'' are probably happier and further ahead in the world for it?

-where do you fall in all of this and how do you feel about your own way of thinking, are you happy with it or are you perturbed and dissatisfied, please let me know

I'm pretty Out of sight, out of mind about a lot of things — I forget all the wrong types of things and fall out of contact with people for months at a time. So I guess I should work on that too.
I think I think an awful lot about the way I think about things and why I think about things the way I do compared to other people.

I... guess? I don't spend too much time with nothing going on in my head unless I'm hung over.

Not really. That's portrayed in films a lot.

Sometimes, sure, and usually with cues. Constantly, no. But as an idea, that's not as terrible as something I just thought of.

I usually glaze over it. I don't think much about the things I'm looking at unless I notice something I haven't seen before, which usually isn't the case in my room.

-do you think you could create something creative and interesting about water bottles if you were held at gunpoint?
Sure.

Quote from: Jon on December 22, 2016 10:30 AM

Usually at posters on my wall.

I don't think I'm good at describing or appreciating scenery.

Quote from: Jon on December 22, 2016 10:30 AM
-do you think that's gay?
Not if it's in a three-way.

Quote from: Jon on December 22, 2016 10:30 AM

I think a lot about the same things and try to get new perspectives on them, but as I said above it's not usually about memories. I like to read to have new inspiration about things to think about, whether it's vicariously about other people's experiences, or science fiction novels.

-do you think that both can co exist and create cool shit?
Both thinking about old, mundane things and thinking about new, creative things can be combined in order to think about new, creative things? I'm not really sure what you mean by this honestly.

I'm not it's biggest fan. It's a little stale but I make an active effort to prevent it from going mouldy.

-do you think people that self-consciously '''think'' are probably happier and further ahead in the world for it?
Happier? no, I definitely think the opposite.
Further ahead in the world? By most 'left-wing' standards, yes.

I'd like to imagine it's possible to self-reflect as much as I do, be more socially ept than I am, and also definitely happier with yourself.

The tiles on my mother's bathroom floor are individually quite nice, but the people who laid them did so with apparently no rhyme or reason and it has always annoyed me.

i dont do a lot of thinking. quite recently i did some reflection and Ive made some changes to the way i live. its not that i wasnt happy with the way things were before, its just id never questioned them. the change isnt for better or for worse, its just different, and that qualifies it as the right choice. for me at least.

A passage in a book I read said something that stuck with me. Pointless thinking is worse than no thinking at all.

I like that.

But yeah anyways I spend a lot of time thinking. But I'm able to just sit and think for hours if I had to. It's a blessing in the sense the boredom doesn't come easy, but can also be a curse, as the mind can lead you to some grim places.

A friend once told me that a troubled mind is like walking through a bad neighborhood; you shouldn't go there alone.

I like that too.

Those are some of my thoughts on thoughts.

Unless

I also like that second quote, but I hope you don't live there.

ExBerian

I tend to sit and think somewhat deeply on occasion but not as often as I should be. I think a lot of it has to do with me sitting and reading/meditateing as much as I need to. And by meditateing I mean like going on a night walk alone or planning out my day and focusing on that.

Jon

I had my days pretty well planned for a while and those were the cosiest and most productive days of my life. I need to get back to that. Personally when my sleep schedule is ruined I feel like I'm leaving my timeline of being a productive human being. I've been on the shitty timeline for a while and I've gotten accustomed to it which is scary. I need to do more bold things, get more feedback, post on forums, draw more daring things. yeh

Basically structure is the way

ExBerian

Most definitely having a specific time for waking up and sleeping is the best because it also allows you to add bookends to your day to help end and begin them so that you are struggleing for like 3 hours to get out of the house/to work or whatnot.

thinking (with a subvocalized voice in your head) is a curse, and it causes anxiety for many people. it's better to just have an empty stream of consciousness at all times

Jon

thanks guys. i would like to see everyone's original 'shower thoughts' throughout life tbh

Unless

Yesterday I was in the shower, looked up, and saw a spider. It was on its web and swaying in a light breeze as it tried to walk, but kept thinking better of it and then stepping back one step, all in perfect timing with a song that was playing in my head. It looked like it was dancing. It was great.
