In all seriousness that's actually the best defense I've heard for vaporwave. Most people at this point try to defend it as great art, or on #a e s t h e t i c grounds, but I guess those people are way more pretentious than you.

You might also like "future funk," where they speed up the samples. I typically prefer those remixes.

I should probably come clean that I actually do like vaporwave. I just fucking hate all the pretension around it and wish people could listen to "muzak" without feeling ashamed, and that the appreciation of its "aesthetic" didn't feel so hollow. Also that the DJs accredited the composers but I've already made that clear.

It does express a lot of feelings I have really well. I just wish people were more critical of the things they consume (insert factory farm analogy here).
