The lines are sooooooooo scratchy. Sketchy is fine, it's a style, and it's fun, but this is scratchy and messy. Try to use less lines! Also it looks like a pretty typical "I'll learn by drawing anime," picture. Here's a tip, don't start with anime. Anime is fine if it's what you want to draw, but learn how to draw properly first. This isn't THAT anime-ish, but you can see the influence, and also I'm assuming your a beginner, so you won't match exactly your inspiration anyway.

but nice on you for working it out and drawing anything at all really.

Lol thank you for a constructive review. I like it scratchy. And yeah, its true that i started off attempting on anime, and you bet it was a big mistake of me. Oh boy, you shouldve seen my uber shits that i did like a year ago... something that you will never get to see either

I didnt thought anyone would see the anime influence in this, or maybe im just high xD I stopped importing from anime a long time ago though, these are stuffs that i did last year. Im still influenced, but not in a so feverish way like i was in the beginning. I got more in my sleeves just hold on xP Anyways thanks a lot!

Moving on, another doodle from work.

Yes indeed

Inspired from reading the so called Pickle issues back at I-Mockery. A great way to kill time at work. Boredom lead me to draw ms paint doodles. I even eventually bought their damn comic as well xD

i might sound harsh here but i'm really trying to help. anyway, your style is similar to a popular negative term in art called "chicken stratch." chicken scratching is where there are about 500 lines where there could be 1. you're going over the same line for no reason, or filling in things that need not be filled (like the hair in your "i am what i am" pic.) granted, there are styles that exist where shaky and excessive linework exist, but i feel like you have not reached that point yet. because of the simple nature of your drawings, the heavy linework isn't mixing well in terms of consistency. every line should have purpose and direction. right now i'm just getting the sense of you scribbling back and forth with not a lot of thought. my suggestion to you is to try to focus more on linework, and getting the right marks down the first time.

SHADOWFOX2

I like PickleMan. He reminds me of Captain Falcon, and a stereotypical scientist. Pickleman's cool...

then again, sorry for that question

Rtil said what I was going to say, damn you.

I can see in the PickleMan drawing a wee bit more style, but it's true, you sort of look like your mindless just putting stuff here and there because you're not really sure where you want to take the piece. I'm sure we've all been at this stage though, and you just need to work through it.

Have you taken any art classes, or flipped through some books (not How to Draw Anime by Some Yank)? They can be really useful for fully getting a good grip of elements of design, and just artisitic principles in general.

are you using a mouse for the digital pix?
I should put something funny here.

ZING you got me there

Youre good at observing. Youre right, i do fill in the lines multiple times. I made that a habit cause:

1) my scanner fails to recognize all lines that are drawn lightly

2) i always draw with a mouse when im on ms paint, and i get the urge to fill in the thin lines that dont come out straight or right (its hard to do straight lines with a mouse)

Thank you for the advices, theyre really helpful. Youre giving me ideas on how to develop my style further. Yeah in the harsh way, but hey that might be the proper way xP

Lol mixed personality perhaps? Anyways thanks xP

Im submitting my stuffs here so that people here can rate and gimme some crits for what should be done further ahead. Or do you mean the drawing itself? xP

Yes i do have a book about freehand drawing. It shows 3D modelling, anatomical perspectives, proportion guides etc. Ive been basically following the proportions and learned some things here and there from human anatomy. So yeah i dropped the anime subject a long time ago cause i realized at that time that i was only screwing around hopelessly. It happens that i mix it with my other drawing stuffs. But im still workin on doing real life stuffs as well. Ill get to it xP

2 more ms paints left to go.

Hehe thanks! Well having skills is something that you gotta work for. I got a pretty embarrassing past that i dont wish to reveal, but only by practicing i got better. My advice to you would be that you should jump right in to it and just draw. Then keep practicing with your hand, and also use your creativity. After that, start learning drawing basics. One step at a time

Quote from: MRatI like that Zekey pic.

Lol thanks, im surprised. I personally think its the suckiest ms paint doodle that ive done. But i guess Zekey adds to the flavor eh xD FLARNT!

The next one is done with pencil. I drew Kirby. Because i like Kirby. This was the first time i drew him, and therefore the middle one got some bigass eyes (ignore that) and looks pretty goofy. Then i went on doodling the rest. Done at home btw.
