how to add mods:

go to \aa2\wizzard\AA2_PLAY\mods , drop the rar file in there, and then go to the wizzard folder and use the wizzard application. in the app, go to the aa2 fixes- click the mod you dropped in there (should be the one that's white) and then apply it. wait for a little bit and let wizzard do its thing and boom, there you have it.

AA2 is really more like AA1.5.. they're very similar games for the most part. i'll get to that in a sec. so i've played both and this is what i think.

first of all, the graphics are improved, especially in-game. the music is also far less repetitive and annoying, in fact it's quite nice. i really didn't like the music in AA1.
interactions with characters have been expanded. there's a lot more you can do/say, and a lot more types of interactions and responses you can expect.
classrooms also have a teacher now, and the teacher can get involved with students, but if they get caught they will be removed from the class, after which you can add a new teacher.
students can also be killed by other students and sent to jail, and you can replace those students as well.
the character creator does have some more options, but for the most part it's the same. females have a lot more customization options than males.

the biggest difference is probably h-scenes.
in AA1, h-scenes had a meter for both the guy and the girl, and you had to find the right positions that the characters liked in order to fill the bars. the bars could go down if you screwed it up. it required some effort.
in AA2, you don't have to do that anymore. you can just select the positions you like and do whatever you want. now there are preferences that each character will have, and if you make them orgasm twice with their favorite position they will go into this ahegao pose fwiw. also, the further you advance with a character romantically, the more positions that will unlock. there are 3 stages of unlocks afaik.

but here's the most important difference between the two games - AA1 did not allow gay relationships. no matter how close you got to someone of the same sex, you could not interact with them romantically in any way. in AA2, that is no longer the case. FxF and MxM scenes also have their own unique positions. there is also a way to get a threesome with 1 guy and 2 girls but i don't know much about it or how to do it. although you do need the english uncensor HF patch because in the vanilla game gay scenes are completely blacked out (i don't understand why they did this but the patch removes it).

anyway i think that's all there really is to know about the differences, i probably missed a few minor things involving the school day and whatnot but once you figure out the UI it's a fairly straightforward game.

looks like i may have been only half right about it. apparently in the base game there are only yuri scenes but yaoi just fades from start to end with no scenes. however, in the aa2 pastebin there is a section called "Futa Modder's Collection" which seems to be the start of an alpha mod to alleviate this. pinging @lionsef here as well since he asked me about this earlier

So I followed the instructions and the game itself runs just fine, but when I open up the translated Maker and I try to hit Game Start on the launch menu I get an error in Japanese. I don't think I fucked up the registry either since the main game works fine.

do you have a screenshot of the error? not that i can read japanese, but if it looks similar i might be able to tell what the problem is. i used to have issues with my Maker as well

I have no clue what i'm doing in the game lol, read a mini tip guide and i'm not sure i'm getting anywhere at all. ohwell ;-;

So I made a character to pursue and try and figure the game out in doing so and she ended up hating me and she started dating the pokemon gym leader Elesa ahahaa, then I found out you can swap who you control (as the main character) when you're in your room at the start of a day, also another nice thing I found while stumbling around that campus is that behind the martial arts room there's a statue that you can click that reveals peoples relationships with each other and what they think of one another.

yes the buddha statue is quite helpful, however students can change their attitude about a character overnight depending on their demeanor. some characters will not be compatible based on their attributes and it can make them harder to date, check their personality types and preferences in the Maker.

generally the best way to get someone interested in you is to initiate small talk and ask them about what their hobbies and life, try to do social things with them or with a group as much as possible. asking everyone after class if they want to go to lunch is a great way to boost your stats with as many people as possible as once. generally, the more popular you are, the easier it is to initiate people. even then there are still some really difficult personalities to work with. for example, if you were a male character and there was a girl who has the "bad with men" attribute and is a virgin, it could take weeks of prodding before they would even show slight interest in wanting to go out on a date. still, you can just edit them in the Maker to make your life easier.. unless you want to spend that much time working at it. there probably isn't an "impossible" combination of personalities, but compatibility is important.
