i actually find it really weird that they're making it an anime, it doesn't seem like something that'd be as good in anime form :c but i'll still watch it

THIS HAPPENED BECAUSE WE MADE IT HAPPEN

by we I mean /a/

But mostly /v/.

Also Shin Oonuma is directing it so it will definitely be #soft.

I really hope they manage to do a good job on it, I can see it turning out to be some otaku pandering shit with constant shout outs to touhou or whatever.

"He was shown the smallness and tinsel emptiness of the little Earth gods, with their petty, human interests and connections - their hatreds, rages, loves and vanities; their craving for praise and sacrifice and their demands for faiths contrary to reason and nature."

"...it stimulates the part of the brain called "shatners-bassoon", and that's the bit of the brain that deals with...time perception..."

About time for a preview!
So... where shall I start... from what I've read so far (manga wise) this is a pretty unconventional and funny series with a lot of clever humor and sometimes a strangely enormous amount of recognition value. The kind of stuff that can be really tough to translate from manga into anime. But visually, they pretty much hit the nail on the head. Depending on how well the direction is and on how accurately manage to recreate the same wonderfully awkward experience that the (mostly western) fans love it for, this will be a hit or miss. And the border between success and failure will be quite slim this time, as most people acquainted with the series already have their own concept of the main character.
A major problem in this case will be that most of the text in this show is either monologue of thought process, and that might be tough to translate without making it lose its charm... we will see...

Yupp, that was a pretty good start for an adaptation. They actually managed to convey the impressions from the manga quite well and the result is pretty entertaining up to now and considering that the manga didn't get dull for me either, this might actually become a pretty good show.

So far, they have covered 3 chapters of the manga in one episode and the anime appears to be very close to the original. The pace seems all right and leaves room to create a certain cohesion between the otherwise separate stories of the manga. It's kinda weird to know beforehand that this will be one of the animes with next to no character development, but I guess that's just what makes watamote's charm. I'm pretty curious on how far they will get.

i really liked that first episode. really funny and a good approach to a common subject, i can see why people like this story.

As much as I love the manga I was expecting the anime to be kind of meh but it was actually pretty good. Nothing amazing, but worth watching.
