Tournaments are back! (new contest is up!)

As some of you may have noticed, the Contest forum section was made visible again on the main page by Our Kawaii Leader, Ar til-sung, after so many of you have said they wanted to see the contests return.


So, tomorrow there will be a new tournament there, so get ready!

Here's a short explanation of what will go down:
Depending on how many people enter, the tournament will have 1-3 rounds. Each round will have a different theme. When a round is finished, you can go in and vote on whoever you think deserves to go to the next round (how many people you can vote on also depends on how many people entered). Keep in mind that when you cast a vote, you have to give at least a short explanation of why you chose that particular submission. The people with the most votes go to the next round, and the winner of the last round wins the prize!

Some more in-detail info:
If 12 or more people enter the first round, we will have enough for a third round (given that enough people enter the second round). half of the first contestants will go to the second round.
If 6-11 people enter the first round, the round after that will be the last. again half of those will go to the next round
If less than 6 enter the first round, that round will also be the last.

you may think thats a lot, but we need a lot of people to give everyone a chance to win.

every round lasts 2 weeks. your submission can be an illustration, a comic strip, a written story, a piece of music, an animation, a radio play, or whatever you can think of, as long as it has something to do with the theme.
Also, you cant submit a piece you already have laying around. every submission has to be made specifically for the tournament. i think that goes without saying

after those 2 weeks are over, we'll have 2 days to cast our votes in a vote thread. heres an example of how that works. your votes dont have to be in a particular order and you cant vote for yourself.

i will try and think of a theme that is accessible to every kind of submission. so dont get mad when the theme is kind of broad

I did an assignment for school a year and half or so ago with that exact same prompt. Tempted to recycle that project, but I guess I won't
