It's called "Kaiji" and it's about a kind of social failure guy who has a special talent for gambling.
The entire first season is about said person, getting involved in a questionable mass-gambing event arranged by a big company that he owes money and it can be a pretty exciting and thrilling show at some points with clever strategies and witty characters but at many points its kinda over the top by, for instance, procrastinating the next move in a game for over ten minutes and filling those with tense faces and cheap metaphors...
It still can be pretty nice to watch, though...
