i would hate to work at a fast food place, but i doubt i'd ever hate it enough to do something like that though.
Fast food is really demeaning, I worked at KFC for a few years. I only coped by doing drugs.

tbh this was a really bad move

sure wendy's sucks but you should never deliberately try to piss off current or former employers

no matter how 'funny' it is
why the fuck not

because if your current or future employers contact them or it's brought up somehow you get your ass kicked

going out with a bang might be 'funny' or 'cool', but it sure isn't smart

Sinitron

i'm pretty sure if ryan got a job at some shitty tweenimation studio he wouldn't shit in his boss' coffee no matter how fed up he got

if he did, pixar or hiyaosaki muthafuckbukkaki or whatever wouldn't be too eager to be his next employer if they found out

common sense yo

oh no the wendys might tell the local mcdonalds and he might be blacklisted from fast food restaurants across the state, how will he ever get his dream job now???

Sinitron

it's not just mcdonalds you know

it could apply to any job that involves providing a service for others, not just fast food chains

if you're incapable of controlling yourself and do dumb shit to make employers look bad, you can generally kiss your dream job goodbye unless you start your own business

even menial jobs are in high demand in the USA's shitty economy

so yeah he really did screw up for the sake of a silly stunt and gained little out of it

i for once could not be in more agreement with sinitron and gladius, this will forever be a stain on his employment record and every company will think twice before hiring him

not to mention he wasn't very great

Wait, in America you have to tell about your past jobs? Because here you can just not put them on your resume and they will never find out.

rtil

you don't have to tell them, it's called a background check and any employer can do it without you knowing

trent bortknob

honestly, most companies that pay below like $12 an hour don't even do background checks simply because it doesn't matter. i don't think he'd even be barred from other fast food companies.

i had a friend who got fired for actually legitimately stealing from the company. he took thousands of dollars over the course of his 2 years or so working there.

when he got fired, he had a brand new job within a few weeks.

and i bet you that when he starts going up to higher jobs, he won't put down that he worked at a wendy's or something as a kid, he'll just put down his current credentials. and when they do a background check and see that he got fired from a fast food job 5 years ago, they will probably glance right over it. that's because minimum wage jobs don't matter, they're not super hard to get and you can lose your job for very stupid reasons (sometimes beyond your control).

it would be different if he was on salary and was making good money and did something like this. but i honestly don't think this will even be relevant to his life in a few months

naturally

i still wouldn't do it just to be safe

rtil

getting fired and then banned from the premises of the place you once worked is a big deal, even if it's a fast food chain. employers aren't going to overlook something like that just because it was a minimum wage job, he obviously did something wrong. if i was an employer, i would never hire someone who was banned from entering the place he was fired for working at, and i'm sure most employers would agree with me.

unless he plans on working dead end jobs the rest of his life it was a stupid move that he gained absolutely nothing from besides approval from equally meaningless people.

we'll see how it pans out. maybe i'm just so bitter towards retail/fast food companies and the customers that visit them that it's hard for me to see this video and think anything other than "this is so great". this is the kind of stuff you talk about with your fellow co-workers when you start talking about your "last day". of course, no one ever does the stuff that is imagined in those types of conversations (and that's probably good), but it's still fun to watch from afar when someone actually does do something crazy like what gavin did.
