Ahh thank you. It's odd cause before this I hadn't drawn properly for at least 3 months due to various issues in my life, but definitely draw where you can!

also I managed to condense my palette into a size that doesn't make me want to cry (far too used to having my palette limited as a marker artist so those colour wheels just make my head spin) so I made this straight away


which is more along the lines of classic shida doodle art I guess.

Ahhh thanks Cipher.
I'm in agreement though. The first one is an example of what occurs when I'm given too much choice in terms of colours to use. I think I overworked how dark it is in order to contrast the light. I'll probably end up recolouring it with a more limited palette one day.

i think the first would have been better if it wasn't so grey

like if you mixed in red on the highlights and blue in the shadows

Ahhh that's a good plan. When I'm back on my main PC with my tablet next week I'll try adding in some red and blue and see how it goes.

it doesn't specifically have to be red and blue though, it could be yellow and purple or even green as long as you make the background match

dark, dank dungeons can be represented with a wide array of colors depending on the mood you want to convey ie green would be more like a nasty swampy/sewer type thing while red would be infernal/volcanic

you know, just as examples to make the background more pleasant to look at

also i just found out i've been using ie wrong and it should in fact be eg as it is an example
