I think that would have been fine if they had some kind of lead up to it. But right off the bat she was like "No fuck off Cartman". It was like she became a completely different character out of nowhere. It didn't make any sense! The episode was just altogether poorly written

His mother has never EVER been like that before except in that episode and in the "tzz" episode but with the tzz wpisode there was a logical explaination. I loved that episode. It made NO sense in the human centipad one.

yea and also alot of times when cartman says some shit his mother also just instantly replies with "We've talked about this" so its probably just an off-screen event

Thats the point. Cartman wouldnt be the way he was if his mother didn't let him walk all over her. And out of nowhere she just changes with no explaination. They didnt even make her say anything like "Ive been fed up with your bullshit Eric blah blah blah." They just "Woah now shes pissed off at him when shes been fine with him for 15 seasons hey now"

however (regarding the ipad episode), i do miss when SP used to make a parallel 'version' of whatever it was mocking. y'know like instead of pokemon, it was chin poko mon. things are just more entertaining that way

it was better when they were forced to be more creative with the names. limits on what you can and can't do forces creativity. that's why ren and stimpy sucked when it turned into the "adult cartoon party" - he could do whatever the fuck he wanted, so instead of it being funny it was just gross.

in south park's case, the show is so popular they can do almost whatever they want. it's only when they can't do what they want (mohammed episodes) that they have to get creative and the show gets a lot of attention.
