as a fan of battlefield 1942 i haven't played one of these games in a long time. this game looks amazing, and although i don't play fps much, if it's anything like bf1942's game style i think it's gonna be really fun. who's gettin it?

i might be getting a new machine before it comes out but i'll get it eitherway, id prefer with a new machine though so i can get the best settings possible out of it. I haven't played a battlefield game since 2 and 2142 which were both great fun.

I doubt I'd be able to run it on this computer, so I would have to get it on xbox unless I get a new one before then.. which I guess is possible.

All the PC footage is from a very high end machine running DX11. EA and Dice have stated that the console experience will look noticeably shittier (not exact words). Don't get me wrong, I like the BF series, but I hate Dice and there is always 100 bugs when they release a new game.  Boooooo.

holy f the scriptedness of those videos kind of makes me worry that they're going for a "cinematic" experience-- i.e. linear, boring your 2nd and third time through

there's a difference between looking realistic and playing realistic

no fps markets itself as being a realistic gameplay experience because almost nobody wants to play a game like that, and if they did there's fan-made mods for stuff like that

and if the story mode is mostly cinematic it won't really matter since everyone buys battlefield games for the multiplayer

I'd rather they did away with the singleplayer and put more work into the multiplayer and also put in the commander mode because that's a pretty important feature they're talking about not including

i played 1942 for the first time in forever today god damn is it fun or what

in bf1942 i used to play that desert map, get a plane, do a looping with that and jump out when i was upside down, then the plane would finish the looping by itself right as im at its height, which is the exact time i would press E again to get into the plane and fly away happily like nothing happened


if that can be done in bf3 as well i will get it.
