My free Laptop :D

So I got a free but Majorly used. The boot files on the hard drive is messed up but that's not the problem. Its an Acer Aspire 4520, so it should have the ability to boot from a disk, Right?. But when I load the boot recovery disk (or any other bootable disks ex. linux) in the laptop, It doesn't run the disk. It skips it. I even set in the cd\dvd drive first in the boot priority list in BIOS. Anyone might know what the problem might be?

But that still leaves out the fact that it wont boot from anything. Cd's, usb, etc.

then it is any of the following
1. your cd drive is broken
2. there's a hardware failure somewhere else
3. your laptop sucks

F*** that. I found the real problem. The proceser wasnt in place right and was causing it to freeze/pause the computers actions. Now the only thing is to get a copy of windows and I will have a FREE LAPTOP !!!

If I have an iso image of windows 7, when making a disk image, will it format the hard drive for me? ('cause thats what I want)
