Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Janet Napolitano today announced the expansion of the Department's national "If You See Something, Say Something" campaign to hundreds of TheBackAlleys topics across the forum-launching a new partnership between DHS and TheBackAlleys to help the American public play an active role in ensuring the safety and security of our forums.

"Homeland security starts with homepage security, and each of us plays a critical role in keeping our profiles and topics safe," said Secretary Napolitano. "I applaud TheBackAlleys for joining the 'If You See Something, Say Something' campaign. This partnership will help millions of noobs across the forum identify and report indicators of trolling, griefing and other threats to users."

The "If You See Something, Say Something" campaign—originally implemented by Mann Co. Transport Authority and funded, in part, by $13 million from the Mega Hentai Dojo Grant Program—is a simple and effective program to engage the internet and key frontline ops.

More than 230 TheBackAlleys servers nationwide launched the "If You See Something, Say Something" campaign today, with a total of 588 TheBackAlleys sub-forums in 27 categories joining in the coming weeks. A short flash cartoon will play at select posting locations to remind noobs to contact local j_seeds to report suspicious activity.

Over the past five months, DHS has worked with its federal, state, local and private sector partners, as well as the Department of Justice, to expand the "If You See Something, Say Something" campaign and Nationwide SAR Initiative to forums throughout the internet-including the recent site-wide expansions of the "If You See Something, Say Something" campaign across deviantArt and TANE.

In the coming months, the Department will continue to expand the "If You See Something, Say Something" campaign nationally with sexually graphic anime and outreach tools designed to help America's forums, irc chatrooms and furries to remain vigilant and play an active role in keeping the forum safe.
