Yeah it was alright. I'd give it a [spoiler]10[/spoiler]/10. I like The Social Network's score better, though. I feel like they could have commissioned better a suited producer to compose the score for this film, like BT, but of course they had to exploit the pair everyone was already familiar with.

the soundtrack is mostly not daft punk and more run of the mill orchestra score. really looking forward to the movie though

Daft Punk will always be a house act to me. To hire them based on their Human After All sound to compose orchestral arrangements proves they're past their prime.

IMO, it isn't fair to compare their current talents with a film soundtrack. Their next true album will hopefully be around the quality of Homework and Discovery. I will admit Human After All was a completely rushed effort that shouldn't have been released in its state.

Not only that, but they put really good use of the Human After All stuff in their Alive tours that got rid of the repetition problem with those songs. They have the potential to still make great music but they just need to put the effort. >_>

idunno ill see it i guess the soundtrack wasnt as good as everyone hyped it up to be and i probably should have seen that coming. im sorta excited for the movie but i know itll probably just be a fun movie to watch and nothing really worth thinking hard about

The album was way over hyped but that's because Daft Punk hasn't released a true studio album since '05 and not a good album since '01. When I originally got into the duo's music, I was really hoping there would be a new studio album by at the very latest March 2009. >_> Whenever they finally release another studio album, the hype is going to be enormous and it'll be extremely hard for them to live up to people's expectations. Hopefully it'll live up to that hype.
