okay i'm not sure if anyone here knows the answer to that question but it's something i've been wondering about for a long time now.

the episode "scott ternoman must die" is listed as episode 501 (season 5 episode 1) in the official episode guide

yet, the episodes "it hits the fan" (502), "Cripple Fight" (503) and "Super Best Friends" (504) predate that episode.

it hits the fan: 06.20.2001
cripple fight: 06.27.2001
super best friends: 07.04.2001
scott ternoman must die: 07.11.2001

i don't get why scott ternoman must die isn't 504, it hits the fan 501, cripple fight 502 and super best friends 504 then

does anyone here happen to know?

lots of shows play out of order. Adventure time's all sorts of fucked up in this sense, but nobody notices because it seriously doesn't fucking matter one fucking bit because they aren't shows of continuity.

yeah but for south park, they make the episodes the week they get released, they couldn't have possibly made 2 that's where the confusion kicks in. And they never started to do a show before the week it was airing.

You idiot shaped retard, South Park used to produce episodes out of order on several occasions. The reason Scott Tenorman aired later is because they wanted to begin the season with the Shit episode and most likely the reason Scott Tenorman is 501 is because it would have taken a while to both secure and record the guys from Radiohead. It's just because it was an episode that involved a little more effort than usual. Or different effort.

now that's a solid answer. But the stuff you said about season 8 isn't true, they did this one-episode-a-week stuff in season 5 already and nothing about trouble is mentioned in the audio commentary for any of those episodes i mentioned above.

still it would make sense, with that radiohead stuff.

I thought South Park never had any actual celebrities. I thought they were all impersonated... poorly.
