I'm doing a random task on my computer (facebook, IRC, gaming, animating, etc) and my computer screen goes black for 3 seconds. Then the lights turn off and my computer is off. This happens at random times. Sometimes it's 10 minutes after I've started up, sometimes it's several hours, and everywhere in between. It's happened at least a dozen times now. The laptop's plugged in, I did several comprehensive virus checks, coming up with nothing but something called a rootkit (that after taking it off the quarantine list from recommendation) and a few tracking cookies

I don't know if I just have a super porn virus or if my computer's just fucked in the head. But I have no idea what's going on.

To think at any time my computer could just stop working at any moment annoys me and I need to get to the bottom of this.
any help?

Necronomitr0n

it may be a heat issue

<~rtil> well fawx what you would do is delete the fla and do something productive instead

I use a thing to raise the back of the computer where the vent holes are.
Thor suggested that the battery might be fucked up. :/

shura

mine did the same thing because it was overheating. i solved the issue by downloading a thing that monitors your comp´s internal temp, and when it gets too hot i put bags of frozen coffee under it
