Apple just wants to get rid of flash so they can make more money, and all the steve jobs fanboys start preaching that it's the way of the future.

html5 is going to take 8-10 years to become the desktop standard rendering engine. it\\\'s not even out of beta yet. and while when it does become commonplace it will replace flash as the standard for video delivery, it will never replace flash completely - especially for game content.

ipads and iphones are the only mobile desktops that don\\\'t support flash. and since apple is a closed system, the day they go out of style is the day nobody will care about what they do except for macfag bloggers with nothing better to do. not that that\\\'s not the way things are now anyway.

people are blindly saying html5 is gonna be the new way to go but i don't understand how it will replace flash games. it just doesn't have that sort of sophisticated programming yet

i mean it does have benefits like getting rid of html frames but why don't you just go all the way and get rid of iframes too jeez

The file format[1] SWF, has variably stood for "Small Web Format" or "Shockwave Flash".

That is what I was taught in school. Don't blame me, blame my professor and adobe.
