1. Do you watch Television News? (Y/N)
no but i see plenty of clips of TV news online

2. What is your political affiliation?
Other (Specify) -> libertarian

3. What television news outlet do you prefer?
Other (Specify) -> aggregates, ie sites that grab news from all sources (myway, drudge report <- although the story titles are clearly right leaning they always have a great selection of articles, yahoo/google news, etc)

4. Why do you watch the network or programming you chose in Question 3?
to get a wide array of sources

5. Do you believe that the television media is biased? (Y/N)
mostly, yes

6. Why do you believe television news is biased?
a lot of anchors do opinion pieces and it's pretty clear these days that networks mudsling eachother for ratings and accusations of aligning to either party

7. What bias do you believe is exhibited on these news networks?

CNN >  Liberal
Fox News > Conservative
MSNBC > moderate/none

8. Do you believe that some news is not covered, based on a certain network's political preference? (Y/N)
i believe some news is not covered based on what kind of ratings they think it will receive. for example, no news network talks about the war in afghanistan/iraq/pakistan or our soldiers around the world because people are more interested in seeing clips of pelosi and boehner make passive aggressive soundbytes at eachother. and the war has been going on for 9 years and it's not "fresh" for all these 24/7 news networks

i do, however, believe that the slant on a popular story will change based on a certain network's political preference.

unaffiliated

3.  What television news outlet do you prefer?

Other (Specify)- The Economist or the New York Times.

both sources cover more international news, they contain less "fluff" and more information (a lot of newspapers/magazines publish in bullshit articles)

5.  Do you believe that the television media is biased? (Y/N)

yes

6.  Why do you believe television news is biased?

who doesn't love voicing their own personal beliefs to a mass audience? presenting the news in a biased fashion helps news stations gain more viewers who agree with their point of view, and also gain support for their own political party by persuading undecided voters.

7.  What bias do you believe is exhibited on these news networks?

CNN Liberal
Fox News Conservative
MSNBC Liberal

8.  Do you believe that some news is not covered, based on a certain network's political preference? (Y/N)

yes

Quote from: shuraNew York Times
NYT still has some quality journalism, but definitely check other news outlets because they will sometimes not publish major stories. the reason why is because NYT is majority owned by carlos slim, the mexican telecom giant, and he has a say in what they can and can't report on. he won't allow them to publish stories that could tarnish his reputation, and he has his hands in a lot of business. it's too bad ,but it's true
