I don't know much about your situation so I can hardly judge this issue...
If this is this a school project that has to be finished in a certain timespan, making an important part of your grades, it would just be ignorant of her, no question.

If not, well... Don't you think there was a way to aviod this? I mean taking one day off from working on your cartoons may have prevented her from breaking up, just a sign that you still care for her, leading to the delation of maybe this one day...
on the other hand, considering this, may it be that she wasn't too important to you anyway? In that case this may be the best for you but if you actually regret it, try to apologize and do what you have neglected lately. I wouldn't ditch someone for an animation, especially if I wasn't under a massive time pressure. Accepting that your girlfriend breaks up with you either proves that you don't really care or took it as a welcome invitation to set an end to something that only annoyed you anyway. Didn't she even threat it a single time, giving you a chance to show her that she still is important to you? Well, if not, take it as a demand to ask for a second chance and to show that she still means something to you. If she says no, she is a bitch, if you don't even consider trying it, you either are an idiot or this whole issue isn't as tragic for you as you profess it to be. Try to figure out what exactly you want but keep in mind that both at the same time, having hobbies and a girlfriend is possible if you just accept that you have to take some breaks of animating and drawing, not only for other people's but also for your own sake.
