There was a leaked copy of the movie which you can see here. Honestly I thought it was really decent which is disappointing considering on what the source material was.
BUT
The film has very beautiful scenes on what the main character's personal heaven would be like. The film is already getting alot of mixed reviews. Stanley Tucci as Mr. Harvey was great and when you first see him he is quite scary. The problem with it is that so much is happening and with the film being 2 hours long so little is actually being told. The script is just dull. It's visually amazing however but that doesn't save it in the end. Anyone else hear about this film at all? I have seen no advertising for it whatsoever.

Hawaii was supposed to get it last month, but they've pushed it back. Dunno why. The only advertisements I've seen were posters and trailers online. The graphics look amazing. The only thing that worries me is the plot. From what I'm judging by the trailers, critics, and your post, I'm afraid that the people involved with the film completely missed the point of the book. And for two hours? Cripes. I still plan to watch it though.

i read about halfway through the book (there was a really dead point somewhere and i just lost interest). from what i remember it was intriguing (up until the dead point) and there were a lot of narratives going on at once. i've only seen a couple trailers online for it.

perhaps seeing it will make me want to finish the book

How could you not like King Kong?! The whole bug scene was worth the price of admission alone. I swear giant bugs would devour us so easily if they were huge. sorry off topic.

Anyways I want to see this. but I'll wait for DVD since I'm going to see Dr Parnassus this weekend instead
